AIS Celebrates 47th Independence and National Day
AIS celebrates 47th Independence and National Day with due respect to the martyrs who gave their lives in Liberation War against Pakistan in 1971 . On March 26, 1971, the great leader of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared Bangladesh’s independence following the attack on unarmed Bangladeshi people on the midnight of March 25 by the Pakistani occupation forces. The national flag was hoisted on school’s buildings.
The school took a festive look on this day. Cultural program, debate competition, essay writing competition, table tennis tournament and several other activities held throughout the day. The school remained crowded with the students, teachers and staffs.
The attraction among all other events was the debate competition. The students enjoyed the battle of words with excitement. Teachers shared the significance of the day among the kids. The day was concluded by giving prizes to the winners in different events. The Independence Day is day of great joy to us all. The day is observed every year with great festivities across the country. We pledge our love and toil to our beloved motherland.
Wall magazine published on International Mother Language Day
On 17 November 1999, UNESCO, a specialized organization of United Nations (UN) recognized our language movement and sacrifices of the Martyrs. They declared that UNESCO would observe the day internationally. Since 2000, The International Mother Language Day is being observed all over the world.
AIS has celebrated International Mother Language Day in respect of the language martyrs, the lion-hearted students Rafiq, Jabbar, Salam, Barkat and many others who died during the protest at the University of Dhaka on February 21, 1952. The day started with the gathering of students and teachers. To celebrate the International Mother Language Day, the Averroes International School held a week of activities at the Primary and Secondary Schools. The whole week learners were engaged with working wall magazine and other activities. Students competed in various activities during the week, such as creative writing, poem recitation.
